Judge Adonyo Meets Commercial Court staff

The new Head of Commercial Court, Hon. Justice Dr Henry Peter Adonyo, on January 10,2020 held an all staff meeting at the Court premises to appraise staff on how business will be conducted at the court.

Hon. Justice Dr Adonyo first welcomed the new Judges at the Division, Justices: Hon. Justice Lady Susan Abinyo and Hon.Justice Boniface Wamala; before informing the staff that all the six Judges at the Division will, each, have an assignment in the management of the Court.

"...we are a business Court and must work as business people. Therefore, staff must be punctual in their work," Hon. Justice Dr Adonyo said.

He said the Court would soon hold a case census and a report would be made on all the files. Adding that the census will then inform the allocation of files.

He called for improved work ethic. "Money is not the only motivation but being proud of what you do is another way to motivate yourself," he said.

Hon.Justice Dr Adonyo said it was important for the Division to remain a model Court. He thanked the outgoing team of Judicial Officers for keeping the court running.

Outgoing Deputy Registrar, HW Festo Nsenga, thanked the support staff for their hard work and urged them to maintain the team spirit. He   said his team had tried to fight case backlogand hoped the new team will come up with strategies to improve on case disposal.

Hon.Justice Dr Adonyo said such meetings would be regularly held to improve service delivery.
